About Us
Test Reaction (testreaction.com) is a free, fun way to check how fast you react, and to see where you stand against thousands of other people who have taken the same test. It runs right in your browser, so there's nothing to install and no account to create.
Why we built it
Most reaction time tests give you a number and stop there. We wanted a tool that also tells you what your number means.
So every result people choose to add goes into one shared, anonymous set of results. You can see how your time compares with people around the world, and with people in your own age group once enough of them have taken part. More than 9,000 results have been added so far, and the test is available in 14 languages.
Who runs Test Reaction
Test Reaction is run by an engineer. That shapes how the site works: every attempt is measured the same way, the numbers we publish come from real results rather than textbook guesses, and we're upfront about what a browser test can and can't tell you.
For the record, the engineer behind the site scored a 237 ms average. That's rated very good on the test's scale, and faster than about 79% of the results people have added.

How the test works
After a random wait of 0.8 to 3 seconds, the box turns green. Click, tap, or press Space or Enter as fast as you can. Clicking early doesn't count, and each round has five attempts.
Your screen, mouse and browser add a little time of their own, so use the same device each time if you want to compare your results fairly.
Your privacy
The test runs in your browser and your times disappear when you leave the page. Nothing is saved unless you choose Add my result. Then only your average is stored, plus your age range if you choose to give it, with no name, email or other personal details. See our Privacy Statement for the details.
