Reaction Time Test

About Reaction Time Test

Reaction Time Test is a free online tool that measures how quickly you respond to a visual signal. It runs right in your browser, so there's nothing to install and no account to create.

How the test works

  1. Press Start test or click the test area, then wait.
  2. After a random delay of 0.8 to 3 seconds, the area turns green. Click, tap, or press Space or Enter as fast as you can.
  3. If you click before it turns green, the attempt doesn't count and you can try again.
  4. Each series has five attempts. You'll see your current, average, and best times, along with a rating for each attempt.

What is a good reaction time?

Reaction time is the delay between seeing a signal and responding to it. Most adults react to a visual signal in roughly 200 to 300 milliseconds. On this site, a time of 190 ms or less is rated good or better, and 221 to 260 ms is rated average.

Your result depends on your device as well as your reflexes, so treat the rating as a rough guide rather than an exact measurement.
