Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement explains what information is collected when you visit testreaction.com (the "Site," "we," "us," or "our"), how it's used, and the choices you have.
In short:
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email address, or other personal details to use the test.
- Your reaction times stay in your browser unless you choose Add my result. Then only your average is saved, anonymously, for the results chart.
- With your permission, we use Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the Site. You can accept or reject them in the cookie banner.
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
Information we collect
Your test results
Your reaction times, averages, and ratings are calculated in your browser and kept only while the page is open. They're cleared when you reset the test, reload the page, or leave it.
After you finish all 5 attempts, you can choose Add my result. If you do, your browser sends your average and your 5 attempt times to our server. The attempt times are used only to check that the result is genuine and are not stored. Only your average, a single number such as 243 ms, is saved to build the anonymous results chart in our average reaction time guide. Nothing that identifies you is stored with it: no name, email address, IP address, device details, or cookies. Because saved averages can't be linked to anyone, we can't find or remove a specific person's result.
Analytics
If you click Accept in the cookie banner, the Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google. If you click Reject, Google Analytics isn't loaded. When it's enabled, Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as:
- the pages you visit and how long you stay
- the website or link that brought you here
- your browser, device type, operating system, and screen size
- your approximate location, such as your country or city, based on your IP address
We look at this information in aggregate to understand how the Site is used and to improve it. We don't use it for advertising. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses. Google may process this information on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Server logs
Like most websites, the Site is hosted by a hosting provider (Hostinger) that automatically records basic technical information when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, and the date and time. This information is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure, and fix problems.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message. We use it only to reply to you and keep it only as long as needed for that purpose.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies, with names that begin with _ga, to tell visitors and visits apart. These cookies are set only if you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you click Reject, Google Analytics isn't loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
We save your cookie choice in your browser's local storage, under the name tr_cookie_consent, so we don't have to ask on every page. It doesn't identify you and isn't sent to us. We don't use any other cookies.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page that uses analytics. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
How we use information
- to run, maintain, and secure the Site
- to understand which pages and features people use, so we can improve them
- to respond when you contact us
- to build the anonymous results chart from the averages that visitors choose to add
We don't use this information to identify you personally, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
How long we keep information
Analytics data is kept according to the data retention settings in our Google Analytics account and is then deleted by Google. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time for security and maintenance. Anonymous averages added to the results chart are kept for as long as the chart is available on the Site.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or certain U.S. states such as California, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information about you, to object to or restrict certain uses of it, and to withdraw any consent you've given. Because we don't collect names or accounts, we usually can't link analytics data to a specific person, but contact us and we'll help where we can. You may also have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children's privacy
The Site is meant for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this statement
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
